THE SABBATH

Exo 20:8  Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exo 20:9  Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:

Exo 20:10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exo 20:11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The Word of God does not command us to keep the first day of the week being Sunday as a Holy day. We are commanded to keep the seventh day of the week, as it is the only day the Father Sanctified and made Holly. God has written it in stone. God did not name the days of the week,  like so many believe, He numbered the days.

To learn and understand how the seventh day Sabbath has been changed by man to the first day of the week. Read the following quotes. You may be surprised at what you read. But do not take my word for it. Go look it up yourself.
In response to the question, “ Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals of precept?" Stephen Keenan wrote, “ Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her – she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day which we never sanctify.”- Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism, p. 174

“ You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.”-Cardinal Gibbons, Faith of our Fathers, p.111,112.

Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

And Monsignor Segur wrote, “It was the Catholic Church which, by the authority of Jesus Christ, has transferred the rest to Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord. Thus the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is a homage they pay,  in spite of themselves, to the authority of the (Catholic) Church.”- Monsignor Segur. Plain Talk About The Protestantism of Today. P.225

Jas 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Col 2:8  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Mar 7:9  And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

The Roman Catholic Church cites the Council of Laodicea as the official voice which transferred the “solemnity from Saturday to Sunday .” Note the language of one catechism:

“Question – Which is the Sabbath day?”
“Answer – Saturday is the Sabbath day.”

“Question – Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?”
“Answer – We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the council of Laodicea ( A.D. 336), transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.”- Rev. Peter Geiermann,C. SS. R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p.50, 2end edition, 1910.

Isa 8:20  To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

1Jn 2:4  He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Joh 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Rev 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
